Too Excited For Summer!

I'm taking summer school for both 1st & 2nd sessions in Riverside. :[ Yeah, two months with 16 units. It'll be no different from being at school from Fall to Spring only I'll have less friends around and I'll be roasting in my apartment all by my lonesome.

But I'm making a bucket list for the few breaks that I have - the first week of summer before 1st session starts and the last three weeks of summer after 2nd session ends. Too excited!

My list of fun stuff I need to do before the summer ends:
  • NorCal road trip with Jamie, Henry, and Jossue
  • Pier 39
  • Pier 15: Exploratorium
  • Palace of Fine Arts
  • Dolores Park
  • Twin Peaks
  • Redwoods
  • San Diego road trip with Henry
  • San Diego Zoo
  • Sea World
  • Santa Barbara road trip with Irene
  • Solvang
  • Huntington Library with Henry
  • Getty Museum with Henry
More to come later!

Homemade Strawberry Cheesecakes!

Looks like I've been neglecting my blog for a while again. :c My bad. I've had quite a few food adventures since my last post too! Maybe I'll post some old stuff later. Maybe.

Anyways, a few years back, my cousin made some delicious mini strawberry cheesecakes! They were so amazing. I usually can't eat sweets but I was able to eat 3-4 in one sitting when she made these. :3 Years later (more specifically, yesterday), I finally got off my lazy butt and made 'em. :3 And so, I present to you.. my own homemade strawberry cheesecakes!

And a close up!

Too delicious and adorbs. :3

Here's the recipe! I changed up my cousin's recipe a tiny bit.

Crust:
My cousin just used vanilla wafers, but I wanted the little cheesecakes to be a teeny bit more authentic so I found a recipe online.
1 1/2 cups crushed graham crackers
1/3 cups sugar
1/3 melted butter

Just mix that all together and press a small firm layer onto the bottom of the paper lining. :3

Cheesecake:
2 packs of cream cheese (8 oz packs!)
2 eggs
1 tablespoon vanilla extract
2 tablespoons fresh squeezed orange juice
2/3 cups granulated sugar

Mix that all together and pour into the cupcake linings until 2/3 full.

Strawberry Sauce:
1 container of strawberries (washed, cut in half, or thirds, whichever)
1/3 cups granulated sugar
1 teaspoon vanilla extract
1 tablespoon fresh squeezed orange juice

Heat this over a sauce pan until the sugars melted and you see a nice thick sauce over the strawberries. You can heat this for however long you want, depending on how firm or squishy you want your strawberries. :3 After you're done, store in a jar or tupperware and place in the fridge when it's cooled completely.

Preheat oven at 350 degrees. When they oven's ready, bake for about 18-21 minutes! After the cheesecakes are done baking/cooling, top 'em off with the strawberry sauce.

And that's that. :3

Yesterday's Only Meal of the Day!

Henry and I went to Best Thai Cuisine yesterday for late lunch/early dinner date. :3 I paid last time, so it was his turn to pay! Anyways.. I ordered the chicken pad see ew and he ordered the house special fried rice. Both were delicious, as always! Nom nom nom. Pictures are blurry since I was too embarrassed to use flash to draw even more attention.

And of course Thai food isn't complete without Thai iced tea. :3 Sooo pretty and delicious!

Food is quite purdy. :3

Galaxy Nails!

Or space nails.. Or nebula nails. Whatever you wanna call 'em. :D

I've always wanted to try doing this type of design but was always to lazy to try it out. Buuut, yesterday I finally got off my lazy ass and did it all thanks to this youtube tutorial! Here's the turn out.

Not too bad for my first try, me thinks! Unfortunately, I didn't have make-up sponges, tweezers, or colors that "popped" so it was actually a bit difficult trying to get 'em to look like this. I'll be prepared for my next galaxy nails though! :3

Here are the colors I used (minus a pearly white bottle I forgot to include, oops):

From left to right:
China Glaze's Liquid Leather, China Glaze's Fairy Dust, Orly's It's Up To Blue, Orly's Opal Hope, Orly's Lemonade, & Orly's Garnet Truth.

*The yellow was a bit too pale and the red was completely unnecessary though.

And yep. The end. :3

Tokyo Fashion Shopping Haul

Last month, I took online shopping to a whole 'nother level and purchased a bunch of clothes directly from Tokyo Fashion! All because Yesstyle jacks up the price of everything by like a million dollars. Sorta, not really, but kinda yeah. And since my package was so fat, I thought it'd be a lot of fun to do a haul/review post 'cause I'm lame and such. :D Err, I almost forgot what I ordered so it was a nice surprise seeing all the new clothes that came in. :3

Anyway, moving on! Here's my package.

It was like a giant bag of cocaine! Or a pillow. It was a real pain to open though since every inch of the package was taped.

Here's the second layer! Yeah, the bag was in a bag. More packaging is always nice! To me, anyway. :3

Yay for individually wrapped articles of clothing tied in a neat little bundle! :D That might not look like a lot, but that's actually 14 pieces. Mhm.

Here's all the packaged clothing spread out.

Now before I begin, I'll just say now that every item purchased was "free-size" or one-size. I'm about 5'1, 98 lbs so I'm pretty petite. I'm usually a size S or XS with most clothing. That being said, everything I ordered fit me pretty well, so... yep.

Now.. Onto the haul! I listed all the Tokyo Fashion prices! I tried listing all the Yesstyle prices but not all of the items are available on Yesstyle. :[ Also, excuse the quality of some (if not all) of the pictures. Not the best, I know I know.. Moving on!

1. Peter Pan Collar Polka Dot Dress (black)

The dress that started it all. I was originally gonna buy this dress from Yesstyle for about $55 until I did a little more research and realized I was so much better off buying this dress directly from Tokyo Fashion.

The dress is a lot thicker than I thought it'd be.. Definitely not really a spring or summer dress. But I mean, I think fall/winter dresses are cute! I'll probably be wearing this a lot in the fall maybe. :3

Mayuki: $8.02
Yesstyle: $49.50

2. Houndstooth Round Neck Dress (red)

Cute and thick! I really like the material for this dress and the collar's so god damn cute. :3 Don't let the sleeveless style fool you! It's probably a fall/winter dress as well.

Tokyo Fashion: $9.99
Yesstyle: $36.00

3. Hooded Striped Long Sweater (purple)

Casual little sweater I bought for fall. Or just chilly days and nights. It's cute and comfy and it's got cool little weird pockets that I'll probably never use. :3

Tokyo Fashion: $14.37

4. Powder Point Princess Sleeve Cotton Dress (pink)

This is supposed to be a dress.. But it's more like a tunic. It's cute and all.. But I don't really know how to style tunics. Guess I should buy some leggings or something.

Tokyo Fashion: $11.69

5. Crochet Collar Printed Cotton Dress (light green)

One of my favorite pieces! :3 I wore this dress right after I opened the package because it seemed simple and comfy.. and that's exactly what it was! So I guess the left picture above counts as an ootd/ootn too? :D Mhmm! Oh, I got so many compliments on this dress too! Hehe.

Tokyo Fashion: $9.99
Yesstyle: $28.80

6. Crochet Collar Cotton T-Shirt (black)

This shirt's actually pretty snug on my already tiny self, but I like it. I'm usually not a fan of fitted clothing but this shirts cute. :3

Tokyo Fashion: $6.02

7. Peter Pan Collar Lace Dress (beige)

I thought the dress looked really funny on it's own, but once it's on, it's actually really cute. :3 The top half doesn't look as chunky as it does in the photo on the right.

Mayuki: $15.04
Yesstyle: $40.50

8. Floral Crochet Collar Dress (pink)

Cute, little floral dress! Perfect for spring and summer in Riverside. :3

Tokyo Fashion: $10.69

9. Floral Crochet Collar Dress (blue)

I thought this dress would be really cute so I bought it in blue too! They look a little stiff now, but I'm sure it'll be fine after a few wears and washes.

Tokyo Fashion: $10.69

10. Tie Collar Shirt (beige)

I don't remember buying this blouse.. Like at all. Errr, it's a little awkward and I'm not sure how to style it. Eh. I'll figure that out later.

Tokyo Fashion: $8.02

11. Peter Pan Collar Floral Knit Top (camel)

I really liked this top! It's big and loose and really really soft. :3 Plus it's pretty thin, so I could wear it around during spring. I thought it was gonna be a little "too much" but it's fine. :D I just really like loose clothing.

Tokyo Fashion: $8.02
Yesstyle: $28.80

12. Knitting Vest (dark green)

Kinda just ordered this top on a whim but I like it. :3 You can't really tell from the pictures, but it's got a dark green plaid print all over. Eh, I'm just a sucker for collars.

Tokyo Fashion: $5.65

13. Little Woolen Dress (black)

This dress is a lot like the first two in the haul. It's too thick to be a summer dress and should probably be worn with tights and such. But I really like it. :3 I'll probably wear it for a bit in spring anyways 'cause I mean, it can't be that hot already..

Tokyo Fashion: $10.69

14. Little Chiffon Dress

Last item in my haul. Also the reason my whole order took about 3 weeks to ship. So glad I decided to buy this dress though. :'3 It's actually quite figure flattering! I think I'll be wearing this very very soon.

Tokyo Fashion: $13.03

Total: $141.91 + shipping
Yeah, shipping was an extra $40. Sad sad. But it's still a huge steal considering how I would've only been able to buy about 4-5 items if I had gone with shopping from Yesstyle.

I'm really really happy with everything I bought. :3 I'll definitely be doing this again! Not for a while, but in the future for sure!

If you were able to get through this entire post then I seriously applaud you. Thanks for reading and I hope you enjoyed my little shopping haul/review. :3

Purchasing directly from Tokyo Fashion was all possible thanks to this amazing online guide on blogspot! The blogger is super helpful with detailed instructions and everything so that was really great. :] But even then, ordering got really confusing because I wasn't used to ordering through e-mail and such. Plus, my Chinese is terrible. Worse than a toddler's. Yep, it's pretty bad.

UCR, Week 1!

So spring break is over and now I'm back at school in Riverside doing school-y things. Yep.

First week was pretty nice. For once, I didn't get lost trying to find my classes so that was nice. :] I have a lot of early classes this quarter (which I may or not be attending..) but I also have a lot of huge gaps. Perfect periods for napping. :3 Hehe.

Week 1 went by really fast. Which is kind of a bummer. Time really flies! But I guess that just means I'm having a good time? But yes. Week 1 was really chill. Hopefully I'll have a good spring quarter. :3

Frostbites!

Soo delicious. :3

I ended up going to the Tyler mall area with Henry to do a little birthday gift shopping for Jamie. Of course I couldn't find anything so I just gave up. But I left the store with a copy of A Storm of Swords. :D Now I just gotta finish A Clash of Kings. Arrgh.

Anyways, after the store, we ate dinner at Punjab Palace. :3 I ordered the chicken palak(sp?) and it was so delicious. :D Indian curry is amazing!

And yes. That was my wednesday..
